Helping young children in need has always been important to Cora Breakfast and Lunch. Since 1998, we’ve been working with non-profit organizations whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children across this country.
The donations are collected through fundraising activities and other special events organized by employees and owners of over 125 franchise restaurants across Canada.
In 2008, Cora Breakfast and Lunch began a partnership with Breakfast Club of Canada to help provide schoolchildren with a nutritious breakfast so they can start their day off right. The two groups share the same goal of promoting the well-being and education of young Canadians.
In 2019, we created a dish to help feed Canada’s youth. For every The Club’s youngest ordered, $0.50 is donated to Breakfast Club of Canada.
Since 2018, we have been celebrating World Egg Day by donating $0.25 to Breakfast Club for every egg dish sold. On this special day in October, customers who enjoy a delicious dish featuring eggs help to ensure Canadian kids have every chance to reach their full potential.
National Pancake Day has been celebrated in February of each year since 2011. For the occasion, $1 is donated to Breakfast Club of Canada for every plate of pancakes sold. Together, we help the Club provide nutritious breakfasts to children across Canada.
In order to reduce our ecological footprint, we replaced plastic straws for a more sustainable alternative in July 2019. We are always on the lookout for other ways to introduce more sustainable materials.
As of 2014, all our take-out meals are served in biodegradable packaging.
Cora restaurants are working towards a goal to transition to 100% cage-free eggs or enriched eggs by 2029. They are proud to add their voice to that of other restaurant chains that have recently made a similar pledge.
